A guide to buying a textphone, 2001 (view report contents)

Deafblind people

Some people have enough sight to use a textphone with a bright display. Otherwise you can display larger type or get Braille output with a computer and attachments. See also Using a computer as a textphone section and Printing section to find out how to connect the Textlink to a computer. It is not possible to use computer displays or large screens with other textphones.

Deafblind UK provides advice and services, and also provide recycled equipment (usually computers with a modem) to those who need it.
