Coaches

The regulations

Coaches on local and scheduled services have to meet the same regulations as buses, but see below.

When from?

New coaches that carry more than 22 passengers have to be compliant from 2005 and all coaches will be compliant by 2020.

New coaches

See the details for buses (click on buses to go to this section). The main differences are:

  • The wheelchair space faces forward and has an anchoring system for the wheelchair and a seatbelt for the passenger
  • Entrances, exits and gangway floors will not slope more than 5°.
