The electric motor raises and lowers the sling, and is operated by a control box with push buttons. Sideways movement is manual. It will fit most two and four door vehicles. There is a range of different slings available. The lift can also be used away from the vehicle. The 8kg lift arm can be mounted on an optional mobile base (£745) or wall bracket (£295), both of which come with 12-volt batteries and chargers. The hoist motor can be uprated to lift 127kg (20 stone) for £100.

The majority of testers thought this hoist had few drawbacks, and was one of the easiest to use. It worked well, and its bar stayed well away from testers’ faces. Helpers needed to be able to lift, reach and stretch, and needed the use of both arms.
