The electric motor raises and lowers the sling, and is operated by a control box with push buttons. Sideways movement is manual. The canvas sling seat has three mounting points and is available in five sizes. It will fit two and four-door vehicles. The arm is adjustable to fit different size vehicles. When not in use, the 13.5kg lift arm can be removed, leaving just the mounting bracket. The lift can also be used away from the vehicle with the optional wall console (£305 including battery and charger), or with an optional mobile base (£745).
Tests showed that nearly everyone who tried managed to get into the car with this hoist. It worked well, and its bar stayed well away from testers’ faces. You needed to be careful of your knees and feet. Some found the straps awkward. Helpers needed to be able to lift, reach and stretch, and needed the use of both arms.
