- the lift motor unit is fixed to the B post of the car.
No other alterations are necessary apart from the removal of the seat
- a hand held control is used to lower the lifting device
from the car
- the wheelchair is pushed so that it is approximately
above the lifting point
- the wheelchair is lifted some way by the motor, using
a hand held control.The front and back wheels are removed and stowed
by hand. The wheelchair is swivelled into the car by hand and locked
into place.
We have not tested this system.
The importers say that it can be easily removed from the car as it is
fixed to pre-existing anchorage points on the vehicle.
Options and prices
There are two versions – a manual (£5,800) and a powered
wheelchair(£3,995 extra).The latter has a detachable motor, designed
to reduce the effort needed by whoever pushes the chair . You can also
get motorised wheel hubs to fit.
