Getting a wheelchair into a car (view report contents)

Cowal GZ-91

the Cowal GZ-91

how it works

The box lid opens and a frame is lowered to the ground by power. You push the folded chair on to the frame and it is hoisted into the box.

Some people found slotting the wheelchair on to the frame difficult while sitting in the car – they had to lean out further than felt safe. Some strength was needed to clamp the chair to the frame. The footplates did not have to be removed.
