Buying guide
All of these carriers have the advantage of saving space in your car.
They are comparatively cheap.
The cheapest of all was the Chairack (£95).
It was easy to fit and easy and quick to use. You don’t have to
lift the wheelchair so it can be used unaided by some people.
The Car-Go has the advantage of having a ramp
and the size of its platform (1500x680) means it can take a largish wheelchair
unfolded. It is sold as a kit so you need to find a fitter.
The Sto-Eazy traveller (from £950) is
the most expensive of the racks and containers. Plus points are that the
wheelchair is carried in the dry, without the need for an extra cover.
You can lock the container. It has a built in ramp and the container lowers
and move towards the side of the car under power. The larger model takes
wheelchairs up to 38cm (15”) wide when folded.
