Upright or Cylinder?
You may well already have a preference for either an upright or cylinder
vacuum cleaner.
Uprights are recommended for wide spaces on one level, whereas cylinders
are easier if your home has steps and stairs.
An Upright cleaner is good for wide spaces - this is a Hoover Purepower
U3120
An upright cleaner should require only light pressure back and forth
across the floor. Let the motor do the work in picking up the dust.
If you have walking difficulties, an upright cleaner may also give you
some support. With a cylinder you need some strength to push down on the
tubing as you clean and also to pull the cleaner around.
