Urinals for Men

Urinals for men can be basic with a lid and cost £4 plus, or come with a non-spill adaptor, for up to £14.

Urinals for Women

Urinals for women are pushed between the legs from the front, straddled or sat on. You may need to try several designs to find the easiest for you. Prices vary with type and make, from £4 to £18.

You may find the designs with a handle easier to use if you have a poor grip. Think about the weight when the urinal is full and how or where you will empty it. There are also urinals which can be attached to a urine drainage bag, for around £15.

Tips

  • A sachet of gel powder in the urinal will soak up most of the fluid and reduces the risk of spills.
  • A waterproof-backed chair-pad placed under the urinal protects against spills.
  • Ask your continence advisor or a Disabled Living Centre (see Helpful organisations) if they will lend you different designs to try.
