These are powered by the car battery from the cigarette lighter and they are held in place by a plastic belt round the bottle or jar of food. They take about 15 minutes to warm the food. PROS

Chemical bottle warmers
You wrap a plastic jacket, containing heat releasing liquid, round a bottle and press a disc to activate it. Place both in an insulated bag. The jacket stays hot for 30 minutes. You have to recharge it each time you use it, in hot water or a steam steriliser. PROS

Thermos flask bottle warmer
This is an ordinary Thermos flask which comes with an outer container which is large enough to hold a baby’s feeding bottle. You fill the flask with water before you go out, or go to bed, and the water will stay hot for a few hours. When you want to heat up the baby’s milk, pour the water into the outer container and put the bottle in it. PROS
