Types of pushchair
Double tandem

Around £100 to £200.
These have two seats, one behind the other. Both can recline but mostly
only the back seat reclines fully for a newborn. This makes tandems more
suitable for children of different ages than for twin babies. The children
both face forwards or less commonly each other. Tandems fold inwards.
Generally seat covers and removable hoods are included and you pay extra
for the large rain cover
Pros
- slimmer than double side-by-sides for getting through
doorways and down aisles
- older child gets the best view
- the children are less likely to annoy each other
- small swivel wheels on most models – good for
manoeuvring
Cons
- not suitable for twin or same age babies since only
the rear seat reclines low enough for young babies
- most models are forward facing only
- long to manoeuvre
- can be heavy to push especially up kerbs and steps
with the heaviest child in front
- likely to be difficult to pull with one hand
- long to carry, transport and store
- few models have adjustable height handles
- not a big choice of models
- tend to be more expensive than side-by-sides
